The praise and worship moments were led by the worship leaders Fabrice and David NDUWIMANA who opened the meeting by reading the scripture Psalm 37:3. Then Fabrice took time to lead the congregation in praise and worship songs and David gave another scripture of Psalm 20:1-8
May the Lord give ear to you in the day of trouble; may you be placed on high by the name of the God of Jacob;
May he send you help from the holy place, and give you strength from Zion;
May he keep all your offerings in mind, and be pleased with the fat of your burned offerings; (Selah.) May he gives you your heart's desire, and put all your purposes into effect.
We will be glad in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will put up our flags: may the Lord give you all your requests
Now am I certain that the Lord gives salvation to his king; he will give him an answer from his holy heaven with the strength of salvation in his right hand.
Some put their faith in carriages and some in horses; but we will be strong in the name of the Lord our God.
They are bent down and made low; but we have been lifted up.
Apostle Apollinaire H. gave the Word of God by quoting the scripture from Genesis 17:1-4
-Even though we expect great things of God, God also expects us to respond to his ways...
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord came to him, and said, I am God, Ruler of all; go in my ways and be upright in all things, 17:2 and I will make an agreement between you and me, and your offspring will be greatly increased. 17:3 And Abram went down on his face on the earth, and the Lord God went on talking with him, and said, 17:4 As for me, my agreement is made with you, and you will be the father of nations without end.
Everyone expects God to do what he said he would do, but we tend to forget that God expects us to respond to His will and all that He asks us to do. A lot of people now go to churches especially here in Africa but their reasons or motivations of going to churches are so different. People want to hear what God has for them (God’s promises), others are after prophecies about what God is going to do for them but they don’t want to let God deal with their character , why are they not excited about the will of God first upon our lives?
God came to Abram and Gave a lot of promises in chapter 12 but you can see what God was expecting to Abram in chapter 17. Glory be to God for many churches around the world but our relationship with God is not like a one way road!!! God expects something from you. Is your right to be blessed but God is not like father Christmas … when you walk in some streets of Bujumbura you will find a lot of street children begging for money and every man they approach they call him Papa and every woman is Mama, but that is not true, they don’t really mean what they say, they do that because they expect some money from you, their focus is on what they may get from your pocket; we are not supposed to have that kind of approach when we come to God. What God wants from us first is to pay attention to what he says and to obey Him. There are many promises of healing, restoration and prosperity upon this Nation of Burundi, I tell you the truth, this will come to pass when you and me will choose to walk in the ways of God at whatever cost, because the country cannot be saved itself but it is the inhabitants of the country who fear the Lord, those are kind of people whom God is going to us to bring a radical change in this nation
We left Bujumbura at 8.00am and reached Kigali at 4.30 pm. We thank God for a safe and joyful journey; Glory to our God. Our first meeting was that evening at WOMEN’S FOUNDATION MINISTRIES which we reached at 6.00 pm. In the midst of an atmosphere of praise and worship, we immediately joined the other singers on stage. We had a wonderful time together with the local worship team, while the congregation really experienced the power and presence of God.
At that point we heard the Vision of the ministry, which is summarized in the testimony. God had shown Pastor Mignone in dreams how many woman and girls appeared to be virtually ‘without arms’, symbolising how restricted they were in many areas. God then gave her a/rod/staff with which to touch the women. Whenever she touched any of the women, the arms would appear, representing healing in three parts of their lives: Emotionally, spiritually and physically.
Afterwards, Pastor Mignone welcomed Apostle Apollinaire, taking time to mention what a blessing it was for her Ministry to have him in Rwanda as the first place he visited after his recent Apostolic Ordination. He was then asked to welcome the guest Speaker, Pastor Lynne Drake.
When Mama Pastor Lynne stood up to speak, she begun by saying that God had restored her ‘arms’, when she was 35 years of age, releasing her into ministry despite that she was told she would never preach the word because she was a woman. She said that she came to Rwanda bringing the message of God’s Love. “ I came from Australia just to tell you, and to remind you ,that God loves you”. Hebrews 12:1-5 was the main text around which the message was based.
The message was ended by the reading of a Poem written by Pastor Lynne from Psalm 91. Pastor Mignone had also mentioned this Psalm earlier. These scriptures speak of the benefits and blessings of dwelling in the Secret Place of The Most High, where God invites us to be with Him.
